Mac vs PC.. Here we go again!

No introduction needed. Before I get into the argument, I'll have to declare that I own a PC and an IPhone. Agree that the IPhone is a totally different device but still runs an apple OS. This makes me more than qualified to trash any one of them. I will make a sincere effort to have a neutral stance.

Firstly, let us get one thing clear. Mac lovers just do not exist, they are simply PC haters. Just say the word "PC" to a PC hater (Mac lover) and you'll end up hearing the worst expletives ever. The converse doesn't hold true.

Looks like Apple has a dedicated team to come up with ideas for Mac vs PC ads. All they try to do is make a PC look dumb and show that Mac's are better. Well, Apple has already lost there according to me. When you try to compare yourself against something else, it already shows that the other one is better and you are just knit picking on trivial issues. Those ads just make the PC haters happier. The ads remind me of Hyundai, which always compares itself with BMW. Need I say more?

No doubt the Apple's designs are nothing less than stunning and look and feel are not even comparable to a PC. Nowadays PC's are trying to catch up with more funkier graphics but hog up more resources than the sun. How important is design vs function? Not much. That's the sole reason why businesses prefer IBM laptops vs anything else. They look so plain boring that, just looking at one would put me to sleep!

Stability is a major plus for Apple. Not anymore. There are countless problems arising on Apple's products. iTunes which had only one purpose which was a music repository now has a online store, syncs with your phone, ipod, iTV and your wife's wish list too. This complexity has led to application crashes since your wife's wish list is simply endless.

Simplicity is what makes Apple more user friendly than a PC. But a PC is an expert users playground and not for amateurs. A PC is so customizable that it is complex to understand it, which is why there are tons of applications written for PC and not the Mac. Even though my iPhone is easy to use I wish it could do more, much much more. To put it straight, Macs are for people who think CD and DVD are two different companies!

Graphics the forte of Apple does stuff that makes you go wow. My iPhone twists and turns stuff on the screen, makes it seem like it has a spine made of rubber. Try that on a PC and it might just blow up. Well, the excitement dies in a week. When you want to get things done fast, you want it to respond instantaneously. Since you like Apple it so much, it twists and turns before you get what you want. Feels like you are in the circus.

Steve Jobs, "Come and change the world"? Too late. Its like telling the world to change the roads from tar and concrete to some white crap. No doubt Macs are gaining day by day but the customers would be amateurs and college kids, who want to look cool. Not in the corporate world. Tell me one big company which uses Mac. Yes - Only Apple.

No matter who says what, design for Apple rocks! Which is why I'll be buying a Mac just for the sole reason that it will look good. I'll skip the power cable!
