11/26 - Revisited

The latest terrorist attack in Bombay (I prefer calling it that) has pretty much shaken up every Indian and the rest of the world. Normally the lunatics (aka terrorists) bomb a place, and run away. But this time it lasted for around four days. And just twelve of them created so much damage. 

This attack needed the Army, Navy and the local Police force to get the situation under control. What if hundreds decide to attack at the same time in different cities? Is our country ready to handle that? 

And every minute single some minister or the other is resigning. This is what happens when a crisis strikes. Everyone quits before being sacked, to save the humiliation. Quitting is also equally humiliating according to me. The CM is also expected to resign in the next minute or so. One politician actually said, "small" incidents like this are common in big cities. Really? Why don't I just bribe a Russian with some peanuts, send him in a Toyota Corolla, filled with RDX to his house? I am sure he would be OK since that, also is a "small incident".

The public is so agitated that if any person shows that he's remotely associated with a politician, he would be torched. People are blaming the Government for everything right now. I think that is not totally right. The "People" elected the Ministers and other nut cases who didn't even study beyond second grade. How do they expect them to handle a situation like this? People are responsible for this too. They should keep their eyes and ears open for any unusual activity. The Government simply cannot afford to have a Policeman for the 2 billion people in our country.

Reports say that the officials were aware about the attack few days prior to the incident. Public says the officials were careless. The Taj Hotel did install metal detectors and upped the security in the Hotel. But the Lunatics decided to use the back door instead. They also, hijacked a local fishery boat to get the weapons. See, the lunatics are smart. They are always one step ahead of you. If the hotel had security in the back door, they would have come in through somewhere else. And it is impossible for the coast guard to check each and every boat. The solution is not only in prevention, but to get to the source and eliminate it.

People are ready to kill the lunatic who was caught, with their bare hands. They want to torture him bit by bit, to take revenge. Do you think he really cares? No. He's been ready for that since he picked up the pistol. All they want to see are losses, and to make us look weak. But if we fight against it by showing that we are getting stronger with each of their attacks. Their purpose will be defeated.

Though there were attacks at the railway stations and hospitals, they did not receive as much media coverage as the star hotels.This could be, because there was no hostage situation. I still don't know why they even had hostages. There was no demand made. The lunatics had a free four day stay and got killed in the end. At this point like everyone else, I have a lot of questions.

Did the Ruling party have a hand in this? Or did the opposition party? Why wasn't action taken earlier regarding the tip-offs? Is there a way we can stop this? Why was the response from cops slow? Is the public to blame or is the Government? Is Pakistan involved in this? Why is Advani the nutcase, making a political stint out of this massacre? 

We simply have to wait and see.
