BRUTALITY FACTOR: Medium
The other day I was watching an Indian award show and something was very very odd. The winner for a particular segment was announced. The guy came up to the stage to receive the award. I personally thought he wasn't worthy to get it as he was wearing a stupid body-fit T-shirt and a ripped jean.
Just because a person is a celebrity doesn't mean he can wear anything and everything, to any occasion. If I were an actor and was going to win an award. I wouldn't wear some piece of trash just because its a "Designer wear". For heaven's sake, there are millions who will be watching you wearing a T-shirt inside out with a pink jean.
No complaints against the women since they dress in their best always, so for an award function it goes without saying that the shopping would have started at least a month back. Along with a diet and exercise plan. Lately the Saris are changing to gowns. It looks good, so not too much to worry about.
It happens in the North and even more in the South. It looks as though the guys stopped, on the way to a coffee shop. Some even wear a baseball cap. Lets compare this with an Oscar or Screen actors Guild. All the men are in Tux. We are not going to look at MTV's awards as all of them are drug addicts.
I am not saying all of them should wear Tux and Suits. But to at least wear, something a little dignified and not like a tea vendor. Abhishek Bachan always forgets to shave and Aishwarya always forgets to remind him. Anu Malik needs therapy and the rest need a mirror.
Instead of borrowing the right things from the west, they seem to borrow all the showy stuff. Like the red, yellow or green carpet. And, asking every actor what they are wearing. Women switching to gowns. Salman switching his name to Brad Pitt, etc. Why can't Indians start innovating instead of imitating? Can somebody please change all the Bollywood, Lollywood, Kollywood, Mollywood, Tollywood and the rest of the woods, to something original?
Coming back, can all you actors hire a fashion designer full time? A sane one. All this is coming from guy who is right now wearing brown shoes with a gray trouser.
