Markets down? Like thats new

You try to avoid thinking about it. Thinking it will get better, but no. It just keeps getting worse.

The $700 billion did not work either. When the banks came out with the idea, the response was very good. Then when it did not go through in the first attempt, it tanked. And the pressure was so much that they approved the bail out package later. Even then it tanked. Clearly the investors were convinced that the $700 billion is not going to solve the problems. The loss because of this news was itself more than $700 billion in the market..

The debt is so much that, even our great grand kids would be paying for it. If that's the case and the money is not going to help us, then why did they approve it? The market is just over sensitive at this point and people are panicking. And again Bush approved a stupid grant. The first $600 per person check which just reduced the money in the countries treasury and had no effect on the economy. It was just enough for half a tank of gas. And now this.

Thanks to Bush we are also spending a ton of money on Iraq. Look at the countries shape for which, he can be blamed. He should be tried at court and, so should all the bank CEO's. Really, who's fault is it? I am no market expert but I think the company CEO's should be penalized also.

How come the banks are bought out by the fed and these CEO's take a pay of millions? If I messed up at my job which affected the country in some way. I would have been fired the next day and won't be offered a $10 million bonus. Since we cannot jail a person for being stupid (or else half the country would be behind bars), the CEO's at least should not be paid. And use his pay check and use it towards the company.

Banks focused on the money they could make at present and, never worried about the future. People who bought houses on sub prime loans, did not bother about the interest rates which could rise late. Who's fault? Everybody. Banks should have been strict on approving loans. People should have been sensible enough to use their calculators. Sometimes lenders gave false information to people, so they were ignorant to this catastrophe.

Even now, Washington Mutual sends me 0% balance transfer offers. How more dumb can people get? This country is too used to living on credit their entire lives. Car sales are affected too. People can't afford their cars any more and no one wants to buy a car with low mpg. 401K's are negative for most people.

Even though we are in a recession, the fed just doesn't say it. Or else, everybody would just pull out their money from the market. Its just that everything happened at the wrong time. The housing slump, high oil demand, etc. Things are as bad as the great depression of the 1920's. And took more than a decade to recover.

What do we do? Just hold on and be thankful that we at least have a pay check coming in at the end of the month.
