When I was about a decade old, my elder cousin asked me the swear words I knew. I told her stupid, idiot and the F word. F for fraud. She was relieved and about a year or so later, she again asked me the same question. She heard to whatever I said and, fell of her chair. The list included the actual F word and a few other expletives in my mother tongue. The latter would make the F word seem like a compliment. Thanks to me shifting from primary to high school. I assured her that I would never use them unless someone asks for it. Like she did.
A lot of people use swear words. Somehow it lowers frustration in people who use it and, raises frustration for the people whom its directed to. I use it innumerable times and, its mostly inaudible. Most of the time its for the well deserving drivers on the road. Rest is reserved for me.
In India, shit, hell, damn, etc are even used by two year old kids. It is not even considered as a foul word there. Here in the US, they are part of the censored list. One of my friends not knowing this, kept using the damn word, about 100 damn times, at an ABCD's place. He was kicked out shortly.
The F word is sort of a blessed word. It can be used a verb, adjective, noun, etc. And, can be used express anger, satisfaction, sadness etc. Yes, I got this information from the same email as you did. It's extremely funny when some Asians use it. As they always maintain their accent.
Some people who don't want to swear, use some other words which sounds like a swear word. Like Fish, or heck, or swell. I don't quite get the point since we know what they actually mean. Unless they are using them on national television of course. And women folk, please try and avoid swearing. I feel women are too pure and nice, to be using them.
So what am I trying to get to over here? I seem to have a small problem. I just hate it when people swear in public. Every time I am out, I always hear people swearing. Why can't they seem to understand that, there are other people and kids around who don't want to listen to them? I would like to propose a new law against swearing, whose sentence would be as bad as capital punishment. Anybody caught swearing in public will be made to watch Love Aj Kal!
