It seems like my last post, drew some not so great feedback. Some were in fact asking me, if there could rate it negative. A few said they slept half way through, while reading it. There is not much I can do about that post. So in this post, I will try and put you to sleep sooner, if not later.
Its been almost a week since I had lunch. Not that I am broke, but because of Ramadan. Somehow it seems like it always comes back sooner. These 30 days, seems like 30 decades. The rest of the 11 months seem to fly by in a second. Thanks to the pressure of society, I end up fasting. Even though I really really don't want to. There are lot of drawbacks to this.
Food being the obvious. I am not exactly whom you would call a food person but somehow, during Ramzan (I like calling it this way) I want to have all sorts of food. Only while I am fasting, that is. During the day, my stomach pains of hunger and after breaking my fast, it pains of fullness. Basically, I am in some sort of pain the entire time. And since one's not eating, the mouth ends up smelling like a garbage truck. I cover my mouth while talking, to try and avoid killing the listener. Even if its on the phone. And normally when you're not eating, you are not in your best mood. So, I would avoid pissing off anybody who is fasting.
I workout to look like Amir in Ghajini, but as of now I am like the Amir in Kayamat se kayamat tak. After four years that is. Forget hitting the gym, but I can't even lift the remote during Ramzan. When I start working out after Ramzan, I can only lift weights I used to lift a year back. Right after the previous years Ramzan.
Then comes the other restrictions. I can't swear. Which means, I can't drive. I can't lie. Which means, I can't talk at all. Then there's the smoking, doping, drinking and the other naughty stuff. I don't indulge in them, but somehow, I want to now. Some even say you can't listen to music too. Now that's just a killer. In short, I'll be living the life of a dead man for this month.
This brings me to the current Hindi film music industry. A 4GB iPhone/iPod can hold up to 1,000 songs. Or "one" Hindi film album. Take a look at any newly released Hindi Music. There will be one original song. And one million different remixed versions of that same song. Only two weeks later you will realize that the original song itself, was actually copied from another Asian song.
Remix of one song isn't bad. But why do we have remix versions of all the songs in an album? This also includes sad songs where the female lead, is sobbing to create another Pacific ocean. All this, where the original itself sounds like a remix. If that's not enough, there are remixes of remixes of remixes. Again, why? Even George Bush would know its dumb.
Even the God of Music, A.R.Rahman seems to have fallen prey to this practice. With the music director doing all the remixes, the actual re-mixers are out of business. I am sure this all comes down to public demand of remixes. But they would have asked for one and these people seem to have gone above, and way beyond. It looks like they are trying to fill the empty space in a CD. I don't see people listening to remixes either. They'd rather listen to the original. Only the night clubs seem to make proper use of the remixes.
Then comes the different versions of songs. One were both the guy and girl sings. Another where only the guy sings. Another where only the girl sings. And another, where no one sings. Yes, a remix of it too. Now that I come to think of it. This one month, would be a good break from the Remixes.

Hey man! I hear during Ramzan you can eat heavy before the sun rises... around 5 AM or something and eat after the sun sets.. There are these Pakistani guys at work who do it I think!
They figure at least that way you'll last the first half of the day, correct me if I'm wrong though.
And as for remixes, can you say "Macarena"??
Yes you are right. But its hard to eat at 4 am. So one can't eat much. Besides by 8 am, you are hungry again.
First few days its manageable , but after 1 week your body gets so tired and dehydrated. The stomach shrinks like crazy, so just a glass of water fills you up. So you can't even eat well after you break ur fast.
Its not easy, and too hard either. But hard I would say :)
I can see what hunger did to you... i thought the topic was all about fasting.. but ended up being remix of bollywood songs :)
Please eat....
